Professor Marcello is a master jiu jitsu practitioner. Moreover, he is a phenomenal and most inspiration coach. He has demonstrated the utmost skill in both practice and teaching I have yet seen. Finally, Professor Mota is an amicable humble and approachable person. His love of the art shines through above all and he will enhance anyone's game--either beginner or black belt. I highly recommend him.

For the past year i have the pleasure and honor of learning jiu jitsu under Professor Marcelo Motta. I have competed in wrestling for over 20 years and now MMA and Jiu jitsu for the past four years. Professor Motta is easily one of the best teachers and coaches that I have learned under.
His technical knowledge is second to none and he has a great ability to break down the finer points of moves making it easy to absorb and understand. He also has an extreme passion and love for the sport of jiu jitsu which is contagious and makes everyone in the room want eager to learn and train.
More importantly Professor Motta is an outstanding person, he is a humble, kind, and is always looking to help others.
I highly recommend him as an instructor. If you have the chance to work with him jump at the opportunity.

What every review stated previously is very true, Professor Marcelo is an outstanding BJJ technician and person. What needs to be added is his ability to work with children. I have never seen someone work so naturally and be so comfortable with kids as Professor Marcelo. He is obviously dedicated to using BJJ to make a positive impact on kids and creates an environment of co-operation and respect. I consider myself very lucky to have Prof Marcelo train me, but even even more so to have him train my daughter!

Professor Motta is extremely passionate and goes out of his way to ensure you understand the lesson of the day. He spends just as much time helping the white belts as he does the higher belts. As a new student at Prime BJJ... I have felt welcome as part of the family from day one... he has renewed my passion for BJJ and my desire to train more consistently and become a future champion!

Prof. Motta is truly a professional, he has molded my son into a future champion. The month he was promoted he pulled double gold at his next tournament. Prof Marcelo pushes him beyond what he thought he has every day. In addition, he is a great role model because he is out there doing the same thing he is pushing his students to do...be their best. He leads by example in everything he does. If you are looking for a true professional to teach you the ways of BJJ, look no further, he is in Colorado Springs. OSSSSS

I highly recommend Prime bjj as your studio due to the personal tutelage he gives each student. The professional approach taken to determine each students individual learning style is unsurpassed. Professor Marcelo is always present during training and knows each students strengths and training goals. Professor Marcelo maintains exceptional discipline in the studio and teaches respect for each training partner. During the school year Professor monitors academic progress through report cards and recognizes each childs efforts on the mat and in the classroom. Professor Motta is by fair in a class by himself. I met Professor Motta while training under the tulege of Profesor Amal Easton, and Professor Eliot Marshall at Easton's Training Center. Prior to my initial training with Professor Miguel Torres back home in Chicago and Indiana. Professor Motta has been a great source for me to come to for advice regarding my training towards being a fighter within the MMA, Boxing, and BJJ. He's also been a great advisor in regards to business prospects. He is such a beautiful person overall! There are not enough words to explain how much I truly love Professor and his wife and family! He's a huge, huge believer in "The energy you give is the energy that you will receive!" He focus on getting you out of the negative mindset of "I can't and there is no way!" In Professor's eyes he will tell you. "If God created it, it can be undone and done! There is no such thing as NO!" If you want to learn how to practice BJJ in a structured and organized manner that is cohesive to your skill set; I highly recommend Professor Motto. Hands Down!!!

I have the fortunate opportunity to call Marcelo my professor for a little over 2 years now. Due to Marcelo I am still in love with Jiu Jitsu and haven't decided to quit like I do most other things. Marcelo is a patient, thoughtful, caring instructor while still being firm. He is informative and is willing to discuss things with you instead of simply stating that he is the Professor and that's the way it is. Marcelo simply put is a friend, professor and hero to me.

i have been in BJJ for only 2 day and i must say, for the 1st day Professor Marcelo, its hard to make a review only being there 2 days, but i can say its easy for me to see Mr. Marcelo as someone i can respect, he catches me on computer at night and we talk about life, from this short time i have had pleasure of knowing him, it seems like a lifetime. he makes BJJ something that achievable for ANYONE ANY BACKGROUND AND RACE EVERYBODY!! for these reasons i will train every day with both MR. Marcelo and MR. Santos!! they make the BJJ hard, but yet passive enough to catch a breath and continue. its a chill enviornment for sure, but also a VERY progressive enviornment. to the point where when i go home to relax or work i just cant think of anything else but going back to BJJ next day haha! i would like to thank Mr. Marcelo and Mr. Santos and the Prime family for being here and helping ppl new like me and ppl skilled and professional like others. without ppl like Professor Marcelo and many other good Masters of BJJ, the art would be in trouble. thank you for being YOU Mr. Marcelo!!! BJJ NEEDS PPL LIKE PROFESSOR MARCELO, and being a good person as well as a good Professor, makes it all the better......my guess is that's why BJJ is on top of almost every kind of training....this wouldnt work if BJJ was a bad thing...its is the most beautiful thing, w beautiful people, smiling faces and tight arm bars!!! with that , even as a brand new student to this artform and lifestyle, i would highly suggest Mr. Marcelo Motta for your BJJ and even life. if your word is strong, his actions will be stronger. God bless everybody. if new or in transition like me, do yourself a favor, do bjj, Ooooossssss!!!!!!!! _Darren leavitt

Professor Motta has been a true inspiration for my husband, John, now 67 years old. John has learned that at any age, BJJ is a wonderful outlet for his love of wrestling, now onto BJJ. Truly an amazing instructor with not only patience, dedication, knowledge but passion which he inspires in his students. He has inspired my husband to enjoy his aging years with the skills of BJJ and has spread his positive attitude on and off the mat.

I have been training at Prime BBJ for two years now. Professor Marcelo is Awesome! He is very enthusiastic and makes it very obvious that he loves to teach and train Brazilian jujitsu. Marcelo does an incredible job of breaking down each technique to the very smallest detail. He's is always inspiring his students to do better and cares about all his Prime BJJ family. I feel very honored and lucky to have Prof. Marcelo as an instructor. He has definitely improved my game and I am always impressed to see how fast others students improve their skills. He also does an amazing job with the kids classes. Not only is he an incredible instructor but I also consider him a very close friend. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in learning Brazilian jujitsu to train under Proffessor Marcelo Moto.

Been at Prime lil over month now...3 days a week I go...sometimes things in life I cant help irritate me n stress to point of no return until I get to attempt to try what Professor Motta has taught us on my opponent....it was a tough tough start, but now sticking to the routine n plan is actually working (im still brand new long rd) basically Mr. Marcelo knows what hes doing, knows what and how to coach esp diff sized individuals...from personal experience im 6'4 n have trouble shrimping out and creating space for my legs to execute n Professor sees this n helps me...im sure this goes for most at prime bjj...I hear stuff about other gyms that arent so nice....lemme say we have a pretty drama free, tight knit group w the best coaches and a extraordinary Professor....hes a tough one tho so watch out...keep your p's and q's straight, listen, learn and youll have the best time under Professor Motta and u will also learn this artform. One brick at a time.... -D

It is a pleasure to me to recommend Professor Motta. Years ago I have meet him as Physical Education student in Brazil where I was his teacher in Human Physiology. Despite the fact I already new him since he was a child, knowing him as a professional under his intelectual growing was very much a delight! Mr. Motta was undoughtly one of the best students I had by that time being extremely involved in the class activities. It is worthly to mention that he is also a hard worker what confirms his dedication in whatever he is associated. Although II never had a chance to be trained by Mr. Motta, I always heard good things about him. Therefore, based on my experience with him as a person and student, I guess I could say that he must not be different in a dojo. So, he ought to be a real sensei, skilled instructor in BJJ as long as he is not any different in other aspects of his life. I recommend Professor Motta!

Professor Marcelo is a uniquely gifted teacher with a wealth of coaching and competing experience. His technical knowledge is matched only by his genuine desire to see his students succeed in all areas of life. His character and integrity are what sets him apart as an instructor and person. Combine this with his superior understanding of Jiu Jitsu and how to teach it, and you have a truly elite instructor and great person.

First to start off not only is Professor Motta an awesome BJJ instructor technically he also has many good leadership traits that shows he knows how to motivate his students and help them reach their full potential. I actually took a three year hiatus from BJJ a few months after receiving my blue belt from another gym and was somewhat intimidated about coming back and looking bad, but after hearing so many positive comments from former peers who were training with Professor Motta I decided to suck it up and try again.
After two training sessions I knew I found my new home. Not only is the instruction great, the comradery and positive attitude is frankly amazing and motivating. Also the gym has some beasts in it that promotes the ideal of steel sharpens steel.
Great gym, great professor, and great team. I highly recommend it.

After watching professor Marcello train my children for the better part of a year, (45yr old, post lumbar fusion) I decided to jump in and train myself. I enjoy training in an atmosphere of total RESPECT for all. Professor Marcelo will not tolerate anything less. It is rare to find someone with world class skills that is so humble and energetic. The other Prime professors/coaches seem to follow the same mindset and add there own twist on the instruction which I enjoy. My only problem is not being able to train as much as I would like to due to work and middle age!

Professor Marcelo and his team of coaches at Prime have been coaching my daughter in BJJ for almost 3 years now. The way that he teaches really shows how much he cares about the kids and the future of BJJ. He teaches respect on and off the mats. And he makes BJJ fun for even the littlest of kids. My daughter used to be extremely shy and timid but BJJ has really given her a lot of confidence and she has really broken out of her shell. I credit that to Professor Marcelo and his team. Highly recommended!

The kind of role model for young people that those of us with kids are lucky to have. Glad my teenage boys have such a great person to look up to. He also has a great team of coaches working with him. Professor Motta and Prime are the best!

I lived at Colorado Springs for a year and a half to study at UCCS, I used to train before in Brasil at Carlson Gracie- Juiz de Fora.
I can safely say that Marcelo is one of the best professors that I had in my life, he is not only technical and really good at BJJ but a true leader.
Marcelo's kids program is something really awesome as well, the kids love what they learn and you can easily see how they build confidence and respect.
Besides a great professor Marcelo is also an amazing competitor he is champion of a lot of IBJJF competitions and if you are looking to compete Prime is a little Brasil in America, straight from the source!

I have been training with Professor Motta and the Prime team for almost 8 months and my biggest regret is that I didn’t start earlier! Professor Motta’s passion for Jui Jitsu is contagious and has created an obsession for me as well. He has the unique ability to recognize what is needed for each of his students and can provide individualized instruction and support even in the largest groups. The Prime family atmosphere is one of support and hard work with plenty of intensity for those that seek it. I’m proud that my own son and daughter have also begun to train with Professor Motta.

Professor Motta is an awesome teacher. He has buoy a community which from my first day felt welcomed into. He is a great teacher for new students and experts alike. His ability to work with kids must also be commended. I have never seen any teacher in martial arts or school teaching that can teach a kid as well as professor. But the most important thing is that professor is a great guy. Thanks for teaching professor!

We are so lucky to have Professor Marcello in our community. My boys love going to class because of the excitement and atmosphere he produces. The kids classes are fun and the various activities keep the kids fully engaged. There is no pressure to compete, only to have fun and grow at your own pace. It is clear that Professor loves his job and loves teaching the kids. They respect him and know his expectations. On the flip side, he respects and works with all of the kids, no matter their ability or belt.

In the short time that I've trained at Prime, the most immediately noticeable concept of the academy is the family oriented, welcoming atmosphere. Professor Marcelo obviously takes a lot of pride in how Prime is managed and ran. Before I made a decision between only a handful of BJJ options in Colorado Springs, I did a lot of research and some asking around of some people I know that had been training, and everyone had nothing but good things to say about Prime. Most people I talked to considered Prime to be the most technical, best trained, and most well rounded team in town. Knowing how "top shelf" this place was, it kind of made me nervous. In some reading and research I did, a lot of people say that earning your white belt is the hardest belt to earn, due to starting a new journey, not to mention the fact that, I was walking into what is apparently the best trained group in Co. Springs. Professor Marcelo and his team of coaches and his trainees have made that concept the furthest from the truth. Professor Marcelo has made it VERY easy, and more importantly, the most enjoyable thing I've done in a long time. I go home after class already looking forward to the next class. I average 2-3 times a week, and my only regret in this venture is that I can't dedicate more time to training. All of these details, make this the best place in town, hands down... And I haven't even mentioned Professor Marcelo's technical aptitude in BJJ. He has immersed himself in the art, and it shows every time I talk to him, and even more when he is training his students. He is a true student of the art, even still at his high level of experience, never willing to stop learning. He coaches many of his students in preparation for competitions around the country. He takes a great deal of pride in making sure his students, as well as himself, are all fully prepared for these competitions, in addition to continuing to show as much interest in the rest of the academy. On top of all of this, as if it weren't enough, Professor Marcelo is a HUGE fan of the kids in our academy. I don't have first hand experience of having a child enrolled, but I see it when he talks about the kids he trains, and I see how much pride he has in them through his Facebook/Instagram posts, and I hear a lot of the other coaches and students talk about the kids classes. Team Prime is without a doubt the best place in town, and I'm convinced that Professor Marcelo is to blame! ;)

After more than a year of training under Professor Marcelo at Prime BJJ, I can say that he is a true professional and phenomenal instructor. What really sets him apart is not just the great technique he teaches, but the passion that he has for BJJ. This is not a hobby, it is his life and he is fully committed! Even if not teaching a class, he is there watching and advising as needed. No detail is overlooked. His positive interaction with students, children and adults, is outstanding. The team of great coaches he has built, ensures that everyone gets first class instruction. I’ve seen the difference this makes in all of our growth in BJJ. Much respect !

I came to train with Marcelo 2 years ago and have trained with many black belts over my years in the military, moving around the world. That being said, Marcelo is one of the best I have had the pleasure to train under. His jiu-jitsu is very technical and he does an awesome job of relaying every detail while still keeping it simple, so that everyone from white to black belt gains something from each technique. If you are in Colorado and looking for a place to train, Prime BJJ is the place to be.

I actually don't attend Professor Marcelo's academy. I train at another gym in town. Even knowing that, Professor Marcelo has been so awesome to talk to on multiple occasions. Even though I am not one of his students, he shared some knowledge with me at a tournament to help me with my straight ankle locks after I missed it in a match. He's truly a great guy and you should absolutely stop by to check out his academy.

I have watched Professor Marcelo teach all age groups from beginner white belts to the more advanced belts and it is very clear that he is very passionate about teaching every student the art of Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Marcelo and his entire staff are personable and very good at what they do! Professor Marcelo and his Team have developed a world class organization that in every way surpasses expectations. My 9 year old son ( Big - E ) started BJJ at Prime 4 years ago at the age of 5. At the time I was looking for a sport that was physically and mentally challenging that would benefit him throughout his life. What my son has gained is so much more. His confidence yet humbleness is a direct reflection of Marcelo's teachings and positive influence. He has gained a true mentor that I as a parent trust and one he admires. One of my favorite aspects of the Prime organization is the true commitment and culture of mentorship at all levels which is reinforced by development through each student participating in performing techniques as much as teaching fellow students what they have learned. Students at Prime BJJ not only get a great instructor but great role models in fellow students of all ages. BJJ at Prime is not a thing you do, status you attain or a belt you achieve it is a way of life and I am humbled by Marcelo's positive influence on my Family.
