Steve has been a training partner of mine since white belt. He is awesome on the mats & really cares about his students progression.

After training for the last 7 years I now understand how different "Brazilian" jiu jitsu and Gracie Jiu Jitsu are. I can now see how much has been missed by "other" BJJ black belts. Steve leaves no detail behind, and his enthusiasm for the sport is unparalleled. He doesn't just teach like some, he lives and breathes Gracie Jiu Jitsu!!!

I am 11 years old and I am a girl. I want to be a fighter someday and feel really lucky to have coach Steve as a BJJ coach. Steve is a great coach that always expects me to be the best I can be. He has a way of making you feel like you can and will be the best and he has skills on the mat that I am lucky to be learning. All around he is a great coach and I am lucky to have him.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, while seemingly more closely related in name to classical Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, is rather a direct descendant of Japanese Judo. Judo, as the Japanese origin of the name translates, is by definition a lifestyle, a way of life. So it is with Steve. Steve exemplifies the path, or the life, of Jiu in his daily walk with himself and with students. He "gets it". It is the path, the art, that is greater than the self. And it is by sharing the path, and helping students progress on their own paths, that he walks further upon his own.

Had the pleasure if training with Steve when he came down to El Paso and visited our academy Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu of El Paso all i have to say is he is a very godd teacher thanks Steve.

I have been training Jiu-jitsu for over 12 yrs and I can say that Professor Hordinski is the best instructor I have had. I still learn something every time I go to practice.

Even though I have never trained personally with Steve, ALL of my instructors have. They've all commented on how tough and technical he is. And they have passed along many techniques of his to me that I have incorporated in to my game because of how effective they are. Steve, come to Texas again bro!!!

I have been training with Steve for over 10 years and know for a fact he has few equals in the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu world. He is top notch as an instructor, and as a competitor. I always learn a few game changing concepts when he is around.

One of the key components to being successful in life and Jiu-Jitsu is to be inspired. Professor Steve inspires his students everyday through his hardwork, his actions and philosophy. "A coach does not make great athletes, a coach inspires individuals to make themselves great. A coach instills the attitude. A coach does just what his title entails..he coaches. A coach believes in his athletes more than they believe in themselves. A coach will coach but the athlete must work. Together, with belief, great things are born"!! And our results here in Colorado speak loud.

Steve has been Andrew's professor for the past two years. He is great with kids. His teaching style is everything I wish for as a parent. He is firm, but fair, repectful and he truely cares about the kids.

I’ve been training with Steve for years and it still amazes me some of the technique’s Steve uses or shows that I’ve never seen. Both his understanding of Jiu-Jitsu and his ability to execute his techniques effortlessly are truly world class. Steve is a great training partner and friend and helps me improve my game every day we’re on the mat.

The success of any great teacher can (and should) be measured by the difference they make in the lives of their students. By that standard, Steve is what other instructors should aspire to be. His skill and knowledge are incredible, but he also lives for BJJ and strives to teach his students the right way. In doing so, he inspires his students (Darnell is spot-on) to improve. The effect he has on all of us clearly evident every day on the mats at Gracie Colorado.

I have been training with Steve for over 2 years. I am 40 years old and have trained with many different instructors. Steve is by far the most technical instructor I have ever had. His style of teaching works for all belt levels and his expertise is shown in his many students that are growing in Jiu-jitsu every week. I would not train with anyone else in Colorado.

I started training with Professor Steve Hordinski late 2011 after training at many other academies over the past 9 years. Steve has a great gift of bringing the best out of each student whether beginner or advanced. Roll one with him and you'll know he's legit. I'm very thankful to study under Steve.

Steve's commitment and dedication to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu speaks for itself once you get on the mat with him. The second you meet him you can see that his life is lived through the wonderful art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Steve has blessed us on many occasions with his knowledge, skills, talent, and friendliness in the Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP). Soldiers are still talking about him to this day.

Steve is one of the most competitive guys on our team. He holds his students to a high standard as he has been held by Master Relson Gracie. He is mean (good!!) and protective, strict and caring. I highly recommend anyone who can, train with Steve and his crew in Colorado.

Steve is an amazing practitioner, competitor, and professor. His knowledge of competition Jiu-Jitsu and self defense is immense. If you are anywhere close to his academy you should quite reading this comment and get on the mats!

I have tried many schools, and had many professors, but simply put professor Steve is the best instructor I have ever had the pleasure to learn from. His knowledge is second to none, and the way he views BJJ is different than other people. There is nobody that is more dedicated to keeping the spirit of style of BJJ the Gracie's started alive.
